#ArabWomenInspire 2021

Yasmine Hasan

My name is Yasmine M. Hasan and I am a first generation Arab-American attorney that was raised in Cleveland, Ohio. I currently serve as an Assistant Prosecuting Attorney in the General Felony Unit at the Cuyahoga County Prosecutor’s Office and have proudly done so for the last five years. The majority of criminal cases in Cuyahoga County are prosecuted through this unit.  I have first-chaired numerous jury trials ranging in a variety of offenses. I have also successfully argued multiple times before the Eighth District Court of Appeals. Outside of work I am a member of the Arab-American Bar Association of Ohio. I am also a mentor through Cleveland-Marshall’s Mentorship Program to assist first-year law students through their first year of law school.

I graduated early from Cleveland-Marshall College of Law in 2015. Prior to that, I graduated from Cleveland State University with a double major: a Bachelors in Psychology and a Bachelors in Health Sciences.

As an Arab-American, I am proud to bring diversity to the legal field and to be a role model to fellow Arab-American women. I hope to inspire others to follow in my footsteps in following your dreams and not shying away from being different in your community. My mother is my biggest supporter and has always encouraged me to accomplish more and for that I am forever grateful.
